Mental Abnormality and Personality Disorder

By Ed . . .

I am a 76 year old and as each day goes by I become more and more concerned about what the future holds for me. I will not be able to challenge the court system concerning my registry status until I am 96 years old. First thing is I will be lucky if I reach that age, and the second thing is what will be the since of challenging it at that age anyway. The concern that haunts me the most, and I have brought this matter up with my counselor is what will happen if my cognitive state becomes a factor, or my health becomes a factor to where my family no longer will be able to care for me. Nursing homes when doing a back ground check find that you are a registered sexual offender rejects you from there facility. What is the family suppose to do when this matter arises. I have not seen any legislation yet to correct this ongoing problem. We must wonder to where there conscience really is and to why they would allow this to happen. All other crimes are just cast aside no matter how severe and they are allowed in with arms wide open. I want to strike on another subject to how many like myself got here in the first place, that being the sexual offender assessment board (SOAB). In there so called evaluation they have a set process that they follow with no testing involved because they are not required to test by the state policy. They basically look at court record and determine your fate by assumption that you have mental abnormality and personality disorder with no testing mind you. Setting things aside that all human beings have personality disorders, an example a person could be nice one minute and then get angry the next, this change in personality constitutes a personality disorder. Lets look at the legalization of cannabis (weed or pot) and the effects that occur from using it. The individuals using it have shown personality disorders and also mental abnormality and in many cases bring harm maybe even death to others, but yet legislators overlook the personality disorders and mental abnormality for them because they say it is legal, but the same legislators will prosecute a sexual offender for the same thing and put them on a life time registry with life time counseling and yearly polygraph. The whole thing in a nut shell is the fact that they make money from the sale of cannabis so they over look the harm it brings to others (no public safety issue here), we must ask the question why especially when it gets the hands of children and destroys there lives.( MANY MANY FLAWS IN OUR LEGISLATORS DECISIONS) Will there ever be any reform in this my doubts are very slim because our legislators have no conscience.
