I have a short story to tell you. Right after I got out of military prison, a teenager in our neighborhood found my name on the sex offender registry and decided he wanted to set a fire on my front porch. We called the police and we knew who started the fire. There was a can of gasoline right next to where the teenager was hiding. The police said they could not prove who started the fire and did nothing to the teenager.
One of the other things I think should happen is that if people want to access the registry maybe they should have to create an account and log in to view the registry; that way they can be tracked and if something happens to someone on the registry then there is a trail.
