We Lost Our Daughter; What More Do They Want?

originally posted 1/18/2010 I am married to a registered sex offender whos crime had nothing to do with a minor but still lives under statutes of every person with that label on their head. We have 2 children together and cannot live together because of the laws stating he cannot live with a minor child. We Lost our daughter while he was incarcerated. What more do they want from us? – they took away his good name, his freedom after he served time. He cannot go to his childrenB4s school or take them to the park. He was given 2 tests with the result stating he was not a dangerous person and not likely to re-commit his crime, yet the laws still state he cannot live with us. ItB4s been 2 years since his release and we see each other about every other day. Being married, its hard, but worth it – I guess!

Overkill for First Time Offender

originally posted 1/18/2010 I was a first time offender, who ordered child pornography in a Federal sting. No previous criminal history, no attempt to contact minors, no other issues, and was being treated for sex addiction. My psychiatrist, whom I paid to come to the trail, was not even called on to speak. Rather than probation, I was given a year in Federal prison, plus three years of torture in the system with a passive-aggressive non-responsive probation officer, mandatory group therapy at my expense, and travel restrictions that prevented my from seeing my family. This is overkill, as is the Megan’s Law registration requirement, since I pose no threat to the community.

“Victim” Married 13 Years to “Offender”

originally posted 1/18/2010 My husband has a charge for being with me under age. He was charged like he molested me instead of statutory rape. I was fourteen and he was nineteen. We have been married for thirteen years and he still has to register every year and gets grouped with all the other molesters. Megan’s law doesn’t give the date of the offense so the older he gets, the creepier he looks because no one can tell if it happened yesterday or eighteen years ago!

I did! I raised 3 children, coached little league 3 years, attended school and scout functions but because they decided to do this i have been deprived of seeing my oldest daughter graduate and will not be able to see the other two graduate. The sheriffB4s office shows up and does a search of my home today. I recently lost my job of 4 years due to this because they thought i was a felon. These were not felony convictions!

They Want Him to Fail

originally posted 1/9/2010 Why are they so tough on first time offenders with no other record, not even a speeding ticket in the state of Indiana? My son is back in jail because they claim he broke parole violation by working at his employers house (he has two children) and this was all brought up in court originally and he was given permission as long as they were not in the house. Now he is sitting in jail until Wed the 13th until a “new ” judge makes a decision to keep him there or let him go home and try to live his life within the strict boundaries they make for him. They want him to fail. They aren’t worried about him getting the proper help. That is most important I think and they don’t care. He has been punished for almost three years, and his life is pretty much ruined. We need help. He is about to…

You Can’t Study or Work Without a Computer

originally posted 1/5/2010 I am sure there are many people out there who need the RSOL digests who are not allowed on the internet! Please send them the digests in print! When someone is convicted of an internet crime, in cases like my son, they are not allowed access to the internet while they are on probation. Ok now our probation department goes a little bit farther then that. My son is not allowed a computer in his home whether it is on line or not. My son is going to be taking classes here pretty soon, I have to type all of his papers up for him because he is not allowed to be on a computer period. There are so many things you can no longer do without computer access. They will not even let us get him a computer and put a filter on it or have it monitered through the courts if they feel the need….

My Children Need a Voice

originally posted 1/3/2010   My children need a voice. I need help navigating this system, to protect my children’s rights and mine. I cannot afford legal representation. With the help of friends I am looking for a pro bono attorney…hard to come by. My children were born in 1996 and 1999. In 2007 charges of sexual battery were brought against me as their father was 16 and 18 at the time of conception. I had been the sole financial provider as a single mother while I watched my children live without so much that they were deserving of. I was told by this other side of my children’s family that I got ‘plenty of help with the children’ and ‘did not deserve childsupport’. During this time not once did I discontinue the children’s contact with them, visits were obtainable at their descretion, and they enjoyed our children with very little responsibility. This is a very complicated case with many confusing…

Hopelessness Creeps In!

originally posted 12/31/2009 I was convicted of molesting my daughter in 2004. I felt bad about my actions and had self-disclosed them to my wife at the time, who then turned me over to the law during our divorce.   Since then, I have undergone 5 years of treatment and have successfully completed probation. Throughout it all, I have had the support and backing of my current wife, whom I married in 2007.   We met online during a brief period of time between being released on my own recognizance and being inducted into the probation system, where I was then denied the ability to be online.   We stayed in touch via phone conversations and she visited me on multiple occasions until we eventually married. My wife is an immigrant and non-US native.   When we put in our paperwork for immigration, the Adam Walsh Act had not been well publicized.   We were shocked to learn that they wished…

Turned Down, Knocked Down, Kicked Down

originally posted 12/29/2009 I’m wondering how we are supposed to get work.   I used to get contract work but now I can’t even get a job at Lowe’s or  McDonald’s.   EVERYONE is checking and NO one is hiring! Even though I was 19 at the time and it was over 11 years ago. Just curious if anyone had any suggestions.   I’m about to have to move home with my parents at 31 years of age.   I don’t know what to do… I’m completely broke and lost and have no way of reestablishing a life.   At every turn I’m turned down, kicked down, knocked down… is there any hope?

Violation of My Right to be on This Planet!

originally posted 12/29/2009 I am a Cold War veteran and a father of three beautiful children, I am not a rapist, child molester or kidnapper.   I had been convicted of a NONVIOLENT sexual assault in the fourth degree, that now does not appear as a statute,17 years ago, and last year was told that I had to register as a sex offender for LIFE.   I have already paid for this offence 17 years ago in full according to the laws of that time. Now I am being punished again for the same offence, they call it civil collateral, I call it a violation of my right to be human on this planet.  According to Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations.   This State is in direct violation of Article 3, Article 4, Article 5, Article 6, Article 7, Article 11, Article 12, Article 21, Article 23 and Article 30 of this document!
