Plenty of Bushes Around Here, Says Officer

originally posted 2/3/2011 I just read Jan. 2011 digest part 1. I would like to share my story if I may?….My husband of over 15 years is a registrant. His offenses were 25 years ago (1986) and there has been not even a hint of offense since. We have 3 children He is a wonderful father and provider, but did have an alcohol problem. In 2006 he slapped me causing him to receive 4 years in prison. He is out now, and sober, but because of his past he is now subject to the GPS monitoring and a victim of compliant housing causing him to sleep in his car. When he first got out and asked his PO where he could stay(he had halfway houses with space for him, but they were not compliant  His PO told him “There are plenty of bushes around here”. My point is, how long does a person have to go without an offense before they are no…

Ex-girlfriend Felt He Should Be Punished!

originally posted 1/31/2011 I am a registered sex offender, and my crime occurred while I was in the military, which is a totally different story in itself… anyway, i now live in florida, and have been for the past five years. its been almost impossible to find a permanent place to live, because i really can’t find a job where i can afford to pay my bills, and still take care of my daughter. my last job i had, i was “let go” because a girl i was dating sent an email to my boss telling him that i was a registered sex offender, which i told her when we started dating, because she did have 2 kids. none of this mattered when i was staying the night at her house, or taking her kids with me on errands, but as soon as we stopped dating, she felt like i should be punished so she sent the email. anyways, recently…

Young Offender with ADHD Faces Multiple Problems

originally posted 1/20/2011- I am Jesse`s mother and I am distraught over the fact that come 2/22/11, he will not be released back to his home. This current rule that is in place seems more than unconstitutional and since it is not a law signed into the state statutes, it does not seem to be enforceable. For all his school years, Jesse was enrolled in professional treatment, beyond what school had available for him, for his ongoing ADHD handicap. Issues that varied from year to year as he matured, or when other needs arose, and of course some that I feel were never addressed and never will be. There is no cure or complete understanding of this affliction that Jesse must try and handle on a daily basis. I will never forget when one Doctor told me that due to his disability, for some facet of his life, he will always come to depend on me, his mother. Needless to…

Female Offender Suffers Extreme Discrimination

originally posted 1/18/2011 I really agree with you that sex offenders should have second chances because there are some that only make a mistake one time and should not be on the state registery. They make mistakes and get treated like criminals , thers a difference between one time offenders and actual criminals. People that are trouble makers all the time should be locked away , but people that are not should be free to live their lives normally. They should be free to travel and work whatever job they want , if they reoffend than thats totally different . If they don’t ever reoffend than they should not be treated like stupid criminals. I feel all the laws they are trying to pas against sexual offenders are wrong. Not all offenders are threats to society the state of VA is just going to have to realize this and empty their list of people who should not be on there….

originally posted 1/12/2011 I am from the nebraska area and on the sex offender list thing and this is my story of how my life went from life of freedom to a life of hell. As you no there is a web based game called world of warcraft many think that this game is free of people that do things to little children but that is not true at all. there all over the net and on games like world of warcaft and this is how i got my charge: i met a guy that i thought was a good guy. Falsely Accused, Imprisoned for Sending Wrong Address

originally posted 1/12/2011 I am not sure if I am in the right place. I am looking to try to be helpful where I can. I am engaged to a wonderful man who is serving time in an Illinois Correctional facility. He is a registered Sex Offender. This label is used so loosely, and I wish there was a way to let people know that there are different levels and most should not be classified in association with the Sex Offender in the true sense. Even as he sits in prison, he is accused of something he is not guilty of, for not registering his “new address” . I lost my job of 20 years for my relationship with him. Somehow I have to try to convince my own family that the label given to him with the spectrum being so vast, the accusations all in one clump, not separating the innocent, those who have not harmed any other human…

My Child Has Lost His Freedom Forever!

Originally posted 12/22/2010 I wrote this because as a mother of a sex offender seeing “other” criminals walk with NOTHING when my child has effectively lost his freedoms FOREVER leaves me cold. The story of my son Gary is found in Wikkipedia. My son is at FCI Miami until 09/01/15. I want to introduce you to two young men from different generations and ask the question that preys on my soul. First is a young man born April 29, 1945. In 1968, when he was 23 years old, he and his girlfriend kidnapped a young woman and requested $500,000 ransom. He buried the victim alive giving her a tube that allowed her to get some air and setting up a little fan. She was also given drugged water to drink. She was in the grave from December 17 to December 20 before she was rescued. The young man had his girlfriend wait at the gravesite to cover the air hole…

They Said If We Were Married, He Could Live with His Step Son

originally posted 12/13/2010 I am married to the most caring, loving man, that just happens to be on the Sex Offenders Registry. He was 17 at the time (20 years ago). The police scared him into a plea with a flat sentence of 11 years, which he served. I am/was a foster mother, not sure where that is because they came and took the kids yesterday, and now they are saying that my husband can not be in the same house or even see my two year old son. We looked at the laws when we fell in love, to make sure we were not breaking any laws. Even his probation officer (now he is off of probation)told him that if we were married it was not against the law to live with his stop son. Something has got to be done, DCS in our state is now doing an investigation and until it’s over my son has to spend…

What Kind of Country Is This?

originally posted 12/12/2010 my son used limewire, a file share program to download music for his I pod, he found a video containing underage porn. the video was a trap made and distributed by the County law enforcement task force. My son was charged with posession,he did not delete it off his harddrive, attempt to distribute (because it was a file share program distribute). He is now a felon, unemployable, labled a sex offender for life, and a whole lot of law agencies are making a whole lot of money off his situation. polygraphers, parole officers, monitoring alone cost 16,000.00 for the 6 years he must wear the bracelet and carry the box. Weekly therapy, the lawyer, bail, court fees, they just put this bait out there and round up the college students. we have spent at least 60.000.00 and we arent half way through his parole. you do the math. its ALL about money. this is the first experience…
